Vital Folinic with 5‑MTHF™, a liquid dietary supplement designed to support healthy folate pathways essential for brain function, cognitive development, and overall neurological health.
This advanced formula provides two highly bioavailable forms of vitamin B9: folinic acid (calcium folinate/Leucovorin) and methylfolate (5‑MTHF). Together, they offer folate support that bypasses common metabolic and transport challenges associated with standard folic acid.

Vital Folinic with 5‑MTHF™

Algonot® proudly introduces Vital Folinic with 5‑MTHF™, a liquid dietary supplement designed to support healthy folate pathways essential for brain function, cognitive development, and overall neurological health. This advanced formula provides two highly bioavailable forms of vitamin B9: folinic acid (calcium folinate/Leucovorin) and methylfolate (5‑MTHF). Together,
they offer folate support that bypasses common metabolic and transport challenges associated with standard folic acid.

Many individuals — particularly children — may have difficulty converting or transporting folic acid into its active forms. This can occur when folate receptor antibodies interfere with folate uptake, or when MTHFR genetic variations reduce the body’s ability to convert folic acid into methylfolate. In such situations, folinic acid and 5‑MTHF provide forms of folate that are already in usable states, offering an accessible alternative to traditional folic acid.

Vital Folinic with 5‑MTHF™ brings these two well‑studied folate forms together in a gentle, easy‑to‑dose liquid. The liquid format is ideal for children and adults who prefer not to swallow capsules and allows for flexible, precise dosing. The formula contains no artificial additives, colors, flavors, or common allergens, making it suitable for individuals with heightened sensitivities.

Background & Rationale

Folate is essential for healthy brain function. However, research shows that a portion of children may have folate receptor antibodies, which can limit the ability of folic acid to enter brain cells. Additionally, MTHFR polymorphisms can reduce the body’s ability to convert folic acid into methylfolate, its active form. In these circumstances, providing folinic acid and 5‑MTHF — forms that do not require the same transport or conversion steps — may offer more accessible folate support.
Studies have explored the potential role of folinic acid (calcium folinate) in supporting communication and language development in certain populations. Folinic acid is often described as a more readily utilized form of folate compared to standard folic acid.
Liquid folinic acid is extremely rare in the supplement marketplace. Algonot® is the only company offering a liquid formula that combines both folinic acid and methylfolate, making Vital Folinic with 5‑MTHF™ a uniquely accessible option for individuals seeking gentle, efficient folate support.
